Tour the interface

The home page that you see when you log into Rhiza for Research differs depending on how your company configured it. However, all of the tabs and links in the header are the same no matter where you start, so let's take a peek at each one. The graphic below is labeled; the corresponding sections describe that part of the interface in more detail.

The Rhiza Tab (A)

Depending on your company's configuration, clicking this tab either takes you to the Home page (where you can start a presentation by picking a visualization type or asking a question) or keeps you on the Reports page.

Note: If you can't access the Home page by clicking the Rhiza tab, you can enter /home at the end of your Rhiza for Research URL (for example, https://your_company.rhizalytics.com/home).

The Reports Tab (B)

The Reports tab lets you start a presentation based on a specific type of report. Regardless of which edition of Rhiza you are using, you'll see all of the report icons here that you have access to.

Rhiza has two editions:

  • Rhiza for Research Edition: Contains the Research report tool, including all of the presentations created with it and the datasets used by it.
  • Legacy Reports Edition: Contains all legacy report tools (for example, the Geographic report), including all of the presentations created with it and the datasets used by it (this includes custom geographies for the Geographic report). The reports you have access to vary according to your company's agreement with Rhiza.

For more information on the editions, see Rhiza Editions: FAQs.

The Reports main tab

When you click a report icon, it opens the main page for that report type. There, you'll find a way to start a brand-new presentation, plus all of the templates and express reports associated with that report (both your own and those that have been shared with you).

The tab for a specific report type allows you to start a new presentation or start a presentation from a template or express report

The Presentations Tab (C)

Use the Presentations tab to manage your presentations, as well as those others have shared with you.

Note: If you are using report types other than the Research report, they are part of the Legacy Reports Edition.

The Data Management Tab (D)

The Data Management tab lets you browse and manage the datasets that are available for the Rhiza edition you're currently working in. By default, the table shows all of the user-uploaded datasets; you can easily toggle to see the syndicated (third-party) datasets that your company owns or licenses.

Note: If you are in the Legacy Reports edition, you can also see the custom geographies that you've defined, or that others have defined and shared with you.

Use this tab to upload your own dataset, too. When you upload a dataset, the system prompts you to specify which edition you want the dataset to be placed in.

The User Tab (E)

Use this tab to manage your account settings, including your display name and the email address associated with your account. You can also reset your password here.

The Feedback and Support link (F)

Click the Feedback and Support link to open a support ticket, to browse the documentation (both here and in the knowledge base), or both.

Note: The documentation in the knowledge base focuses on Legacy Report edition information. The documentation here focuses on the Research report available in the Rhiza for Research edition.

The What's New Widget (G)

Each time we release a new version of our software, we share the details of the improvements we've made and how you can take advantage of them. Click the What's New widget to learn what's been added or updated in each release.
